Hi all!  I had forgotten that I'd subbed to this group as I hadn't heard anything in so long.  The open forum idea sounds great!

I just had back surgery though, so it will likely be hit & miss with me for some time, as I"m limited on how long I can sit up.

Blessings,
Carla Kay
Ps. 96:1,3,& 4a  Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.  Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.  For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise...

I sympathize as I also injured my back last year and have found that there is nothing that can be done about it.  It has robbed me of so many things and I have had to learn new ways.  I make quilt tops for my income and cannot sit for long, so as you said, it is hit and miss, but with the Lord's help, we persevere, don't we?

I am caretaker for my son's property while he is away in the military (20 acres).  Now THAT takes the Lord's help if you are on limited income and cannot walk well.  I would like to see how others do things.  For instance, one of my tricks I learned was to put a block by the tractor, so that I could climb on to mow.  And by all steps, I have pounded a treated board of the appropriate thickness so that I can get up the step, like into the barn, or onto the porch, or into the house (not more than a 2 inch step).

What are some tricks that some of you use?
