Thankyou that recipe sounds really good. Might do that tomorrow.

We will have a quiet Thanksgiving. Our sons are coming with their fiancés,and I am having baked ham and baked turkey. I am baking the ham right now. I also baked today some nutbreads:banana, apricot, date, cranberry, and plain nutbread.I amso am going to bake 2 pumpkin pies and a peach pie this afternoon, and make some fudge. Tomorrow while the turkey is roasting,.I will make greenbean casserole, sweet potato casserole, and mashed potatoes and bake some rolls. To drink I will serve some Pilgrims punch.

After dinner the kids will divide up a lot of the left overs so they won't have to bother with cooking over the weekend. They are all very hard workers and this will give them a break.

Happy thanksgiving everyone

What is Pilgrim's punch? Sounds interesting.

Might as well bring up the question, what sorts of things do you do with your children to encourage thankful attitudes?

Thanks,
Jean

Take punchbowl, add ample amount of ice. Take 1 regular size can of frozen lemonade and place in the middle of the ice. Pour a bottle of cranberry juice over it,then 1 quart of ginger ale. Add some orange slices and enjoy.

My kids are all adults now from ages 42 down to 27.I tired to show by example not to take things for granted and to be thankful for the little things as well as the big things that come along in life and not just material things either. ,we didn't have enough money to do that. We had a small farm and  my husband worked full time as a welder. I stayed home and worked the farm and took care of the 4 kids and also worked part time for a sample company putting paper samplers together. So we were very thankful for all that we did manage to have.We kept them very active in scouts 4H band and the church.
