Hello there....I guess it must be a long time since
this group was active, so long that I don't even remember it!! But it
might be me...I can't remember quite a few things lately! Maybe someone
can refresh my memory! (Perhaps it was the one written by someone from New
York?)
I am Margaret from Vermont. I am married to a
minister and I myself work as an instructional paraprofessional at our local
middle school. A challenging but rewarding job... My last
name is McIntyre, so the kids call me Mrs. Mac or even Mrs. Mac and
Cheese!! In my spare (?) time I raise Nubian goats
and chickens, plus have two geese who protect our two
large gardens from deer. We also enjoy our berry patches, and fruit
trees. I love to be as self suffient as possible. This Thanksgiving
we are enjoying our two grown children being home and also our
daughter-in-law. Tomorrow my sister-in-law, her husband and two grown kids
from CT will be joining us. I also find it very rewarding to
serve as many home produced foods in our meals as possible so tomorrow,
in addition to turkey ,dressing, gravy, peas, and a traditional cranberry
fluff salad, I will be serving banana squash, potatoes, sweet potato bread,
apple pie, raspberry pies and cider all from produce we harvested on
our land . I'll also be serving fiddleheads especially for my
sister-in-law who does not have access to them. ( I wonder if you all know
what they are?) God has been so good to us, a thought that really comes
home when we see other having to endure famine, floods, droughts, fires, and
wars. There are so, so many, many reasons to be thankful at this time, the
greatest of which is God's great love for us all.. Have a
blessed Thanksgiving everyone!
