This is somewhat concerning, particularly if the flat mirror could readily be turned into a concave one where sunlight could be focussed on say just a single square metre of the Earth’s surface, giving it the intensity of some 324 times that of ordinary sunlight. Alternatively, it might be turned into a fresnel lens with potentially similar dire effects. Focussed for just a few seconds on any soft target might well be enough to destroy it, before the focus and direction is changed to seek another one - say destroying ten targets every minute.
I particularly dislike SRM methods that have military usage.
