I strongly encourage folks to attend this virtual NY Climate week program on SRM Friday at 13:00 UTC that makes the case for a non-use agreement. 

Amongst the panelists are representatives from the governments of Cameroon and Fiji. 

I am not aware of any government in the world that would send a representative to make the case for use of SRM. 

It’s vital that we hear directly from the opponents of SRM and that we have an opportunity to question and challenge their assertions as appropriate. 

The climate intervention panel sponsored by HCI this past Monday went quite well, with a capacity crowd and variety of perspectives presented by the panelists and the audience. 

We will let you know when the recording will be posted and distributed.

Also, FYI, Bill McKibben’s post at midnight (12:17am EDT) on his Substack The Crucial Years titled  The Stupidest Speech in UN History gave me an opportunity to push back on his obstruction to SRM (SAI in particular) … very subtly—or not so subtly —but he gets it 😉

Sadly, I am on the verge of slipping into doomism as we who care about truth are obstructed by the ranks of climate denialists on one side, and on the other side by those who fail to move beyond failed 20th century panaceas that fell by the wayside by procrastination—I feel like the rope in their tug-of-war is looped around our collective neck steadily tightening, choking humanity and civilization inexorably to a Global Deadly Calamity.
