Hi all,

This is very unlikely to be the storm of the century. Global warming increases sea surface temperature to intensify storms; and storm systems are moving slower meaning greater rainfall and storm surges. The reduced temperature gradient between the Arctic and tropics means everything between will tend to move slower and stall more frequently.

Perhaps the Guardian might take note of this.  Any chance, Owen?

Cheers John

Make that, “storm of the century, so far”, there are 75 more years to go!

What is happening to my island today will be far more terrible than previous record hurricanes, Charlie, Flora, Allen, Gilbert, and Ivan, thanks to global warming from fossil fuels.
