This the second season of Pokemon anime ran for thirty-six episodes and it pseudo filler too. These episodes can be found Netflix, Pokeflix not sure they have all the episodes but the internet archive.org too. The canon points to orange islands is the mysterious GS Poke ball, this season introduces Tracy a Pokemon watcher. Ash gets a Snorlax along with Misty gets a Poliwag. Ash's Charizard behaves better after getting frozen in a battle and Ash helps it recover. This season also reduces of some of the running gags such as the Jigglypuff singing putting the characters asleep then drawing on their faces. Or Misty's Psyduck randomly breaking out of the Poke ball.

Technically the first episode of the is returning from his attempt in the Indigo league tournament. He has to release his newly evolved Pidgeot to protect the Pidgey and Pidgeotto who are being attack by a flock of Spearow being lead by a Fearow. Afther this Ash travels to the Orange Islands to do an errant for Professor Oak.Brock at this point stays with Professor Ivy for a bit. During this task Ash saves a Lapras from some beach bullies and learns about the Orange Island championship.Tracy a Pokemon watcher and a Professor Oak fanboy also joins Ash's group at this point too. So his goals from there are enter and win the orange island championship and to return the Lapras to it family. The Orange league is different from Indigo league by only four shell badges are needed to enter the championship and instead of traditional battle it more of challenges like the water gun target contest or Ash having to make a bob sled with his Pokemon and ride down the mountain. When Ash does take on the Orange League champion Drake it is a great battle because Ash Drake do get to their last Pokemon Drake's Dragonite and Ash's Pikachu, Ash Pikachu barley wins this match against Drakes Dragonite after using his other Pokemon to weakling it too. The last couple of episodes of this season is Ash finding the Lapas family returning it to them. Ash returning to Pallet Town to give professor Oak the GS Poke ball having a rematch with his rival Gary Oak and loses. Finding out not even professor Oak can figure the GS Ball so Ash, Misty and Brock are going to journey to the Johto region to find the ball master Kurt and enter in the Johto League Champion too.

The issues with this season is the American opening and ending theme which is the same song is an annoying earwig. Misty seems to lose a big part of her personality in this season even though she gets a couple episodes to herself. The same can be said about Tracy with having no personality. This me but I really liked the Lapas and I was kinda sad Ash had to give it back. With these issues it probably a mid tier season of Pokemon to watch not really good but not terrible either it also does fill in details in between Indigo league Johto league too.
