The Department of Biomedical Informatics is seeking a post-doctoral research fellow with expertise in genomics and biomedical informatics to work in developing methods to integrate genomic and epigenomic data with environmental data (such as IoT devices, environmental sensors, geospatial locations, computational models, socio-economic and behavioral) and clinical data  in order to support translational exposomic research. She/He will work with the faculty in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and with the engineering staff of the Center for Clinical and Translational Science Biomedical Informatics Core on big data integration, metadata and semantics, and big data analytics including spatio-temporal computational models and uncertainty characterization. The post-doc will work on projects that advance the PRISMS project at University of Utah (https://www.nibib.nih.gov/research-funding/prisms) that uses advanced distributed computing and semantics by integrating genomic data with exposomic data for clinical and translational research for conditions such as asthma, and their clinical management.

Job Requirements

·       A Completed Doctoral degree in Biomedical Informatics or a related field, e.g. Bioinformatics, Genomics, Epidemiology, Computer Science, Software Engineering.

·       Background in genomics preferably with publications is required.

·       Programming skills and experience in the application of computational methods to genomic data are highly desirable.

·       Good English skills (writing, speaking).
