HIAWG participants:

Tomorrow is the final scheduled meeting for 2021. We will continue the topic from the previous meeting namely, suggesting and outlining topics and themes for the coming year.

These topics may be influenced by any new affiliations between Kantara (under Kay's leadership) and likeminded groups.  

Most of us are aware that the major decisions in the future are emanating from Congress and the Administration, but more specifically HHS and ONC.  Each of the states also have input affecting digital identities, their attributes, and the federation of identities.  Generally, they are based on the NIST recommendations and to some extent the original NSTIC principles of Trusted IDs in Cyberspace. 

Jim Kragh and I have been discussing having some joint meetings with his workgroup giving us more exposure to detailed examples of other tools used to implement our vision, such as secure, Internet connected, mobile phones, Digital examples of the Real ID, issued commonly by the DMV agencies in each state,  Proof of Immunization and the role of other stakeholders, such as the FIDO Alliance, Carin Alliance, Patient ID Now, etc.

Finally, I would like participants to suggests names of guests who upon invitation, could give us short presentations of their products that follow the governmental guidelines for eCommerce IDs in Healthcare.

Barry Hieb will be away tomorrow but will do his latest update in January.

After tomorrow, the next calls for January 2022 will be on the 6th and 20th at 2 PM ET.  Please reserve the times in your calendars.
