Our workgroup is at a crossroad with no obvious path to the future. The Identity ecosystem details we've been discussing for several years and the recommendations for design and implementation,
building upon the original NSTIC guidelines seems to be dependent on government deciding what should be the next steps and how they might be funded.
There has been a lot of technical and administrative progress over the past decade around Id assurance, but still much more to gain acceptance of the
IDESG principles.
I propose we do some brainstorming tomorrow with "nothing off the table" about next projects, including abundant use cases, let alone the growing debate around vaccine credentials. Apropos, I like
the Greek "omicron" and how many highly paid news anchors say "omnicron" (thinking of my personal history of having studied ancient Greek in college😀)
We have incredible expertise within the current and former active members of this workgroup.
I hope many or most of you can attend tomorrow to share current work and offer new directions.
Unfortunately, Jim Kragh will not be able to attend due to an important conflict tomorrow.
