A gentle reminder regarding the mid-annual meet scheduled for 15th and 16th August (Sat-Sun) at Seva Kendra, Kolkata. Kindly register by 9th August (Sunday) using this short form if you plan to join in person. The local organizers will visit the venue on the 10th to make the final bookings.

Queer Health and Corporatization/Medical-Industrial Complex in Healthcare are the two themes that have attracted considerable interest. We will finalize one of the two as the theme for the 53rd annual meet, and will then discuss various possible sub-themes and contributors.

We will also have a General Body Meeting to discuss organizational issues, and will finalize the dates and venue for the annual meet.

The sub-groups* that got formed after the Raipur meeting may share the progress at the mid-annual meet. This, in a way, will be a logical extension of the discussions around Violence in Healthcare held at the last annual meet. [*a) Framing DOs and DON'Ts to be followed during overt violence (n=8 people showed interest); b) Discussing Queer affirmative healthcare (n=21); c) Documenting the discussions around the seven case studies (n=14); d) Developing pedagogical tools to reflect on violence (n=13); e) Discussing dilemmas, challenges, and future directions of frontline health professionals (n=29)]

Queer Health and Corporatization/Medical-Industrial Complex in Healthcare are the two themes that have attracted considerable interest. The former already has its stems in, among other things, Medical Education. The latter has the potential to link with the vaccine frenzy (using COVID/HPV Vaccine as a case). The groups/individuals invested in these two ideas may share a clearer and more concrete framing at the mid-annual meet. We will finalize one of the two as the theme for the 53rd annual meet, and will then discuss various possible sub-themes and contributors.

We will also have a General Body Meeting to discuss organizational issues, including the dates and venue for the annual meet.

Though the meeting will be in hybrid mode, there is nothing like meeting in person. Please fill out this short form if you plan to come over; it will help us make necessary arrangements.
