先週、武田薬品工業の臨床開発部門の方の話を伺う機会がありました。
武田薬品の場合、臨床解析システムに係る開発で、SAS Drug Developmentのホステッドアプリケーション（サーバーは米国SASにあ
る）を利用し、世界三極共通体制を敷いています。ただし、日本の製薬メーカーの臨床開発部門では、自社開発への依存度が高いこと、自社の国内要員だけで
は24時間サポートが困難なこと等から、一極集中型システム環境への完全移行は非現実的のようです。やはり、クラウドと非クラウドのハイブリッド環境が
現実的な解でしょうか。

3月にシリコンバレーに言ったのですが、バイオ系のクラウドサービス（SaaS,PaaS）を提供しているcycle cloud社を知りました。

同じころに米国へ調査に行かれてた先生からの報告では、
米国のある研究所でプロジェクトのスタートアップにcycle cloud社を利用して
環境構築を低コストで、短時間に出来たとの報告をしていたと聞いております。

研究データが世界にあるデータセンターに存在することへの懸念はありますが、
既にビジネスのレベルにまで来ている点は評価すべきと感じています。
