There are vaccine like polio where one dose is enough, pneumococcal where one dose is enough for adults.

The COVID virus looks more like the influenza virus than the polio virus."
United States is in a good position to move into booster shots because of its vaccine rollout, whereas many other nations are still getting first vaccinations.
Countries that have already achieved high vaccine coverage are going to be ready to shift their focus to boosters in 2022 and possibly even starting at the end of this year.
Johnson & Johnson CEO Alex Gorsky said people may need to get vaccinated against COVID-19 annually, just like seasonal flu shots.
1566: Herpes zoster reactivation -- a.k.a. shingles -- following COVID-19 vaccination in six patients with comorbid autoimmune/inflammatory diseases may be a new adverse event associated with the Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccine. At two centers in Israel, there have been six cases of herpes zoster developing shortly after administration of the Pfizer vaccine in patients with disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis since December 2020, according to Victoria Furer, MD, of Tel Aviv University, and colleagues.
