An Interview of Yee-Wing Tong, MD. by Andrew Fong

  1. Where were you born?

I was born in China.

  1. When did you immigrate to the united states?

1962

  1. Where did you attend college and what did you attend college for?

I attended college at the California Institute of Technology, first majoring in physics, then changed to pre-med, as I wanted to learn something related to human health. I studied genetics under E.B. Lewis, Ph D., who later was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his research in Drosophila genetics.

However, I found from my own research that genes are not the real governor of health. The evidence for this is that all health functions are gone at death but there is no loss of any gene. To pursue the truth on health, I decided to go to medical school.

  1. Why did you decide to pursue the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)?

I began my medical career at the USC School of Medicine. During medical school I discovered that chemical drugs mask symptoms and never treat the causes. As the underlying causes are not treated, drug therapies are endless for chronic disorders. Because all drugs have side effects, long-term drug use creates more harm than good.

I was later exposed to acupuncture, as President Nixon just returned from China. I decided to learn it because I wanted to avoid chronic drug therapy.

  1. What flaws did you see in drugs and or pain medications?

Treating pain, blood pressure and other symptoms without fixing their cause is akin to painting over dirty wall stains without fixing the leak that caused them. Also, doing double blind studies to select the most effective analgesic is similar to finding the best paint to mask the wall stains. No one would do that in the real world. It is fraud and not scientific.

Moreover, chemicals interact with each other to either potentiate or negate their effects. Nearly all chronic patients take two or more drugs. None of the combination of multiple drug therapies has been scientifically verified. Hence, polypharmacy for chronic disorders is fallacious.

  1. How do you treat pain instead of prescribing opioids?

I cure pain and other symptoms by eradicating their root causes with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The Chinese found that humans are both BODY and MIND. The mind is non physical energy, qi, that can cure disorders. Qi enters the body via different meridians and warms the tissues to open capillary blood flow. Together qi and blood flow to various parts where qi commands blood cells to heal disorders.

Stress, bad diets and other deleterious factors, including prescription drugs, cause blockages of qi/blood circulation, depriving tissues of the healing qi and resulting in disorders. This is similar to unresolved traffic jams causing social disturbances.

Clearing the blockages with acupuncture will cure the disorders, just as opening the traffic jams will calm the social disturbances.

Yet acupuncture is not effective for spastic blockages of severe disorders. In contrast, relieving the spasm with anesthetic injections can effectively clear severe blockages to obtain instant profound relief. I call this therapy Neuro-BioEnergetics, or NBE.

  1.     Have you seen the first hand atrocities of opioid addiction?

No, but I have heard plenty of heart-wrenching stories from the normal society as well as the extensive environmental ruin by addicted homeless people, whose trash and excrement post a threat to a dangerous infectious epidemic.

  1. Has your practices with pain management been effective when compared strictly to the reduction of pain induced by opioids?

Very effective, as we never do “pain management”but cure the pain and other symptoms by restoring the health of the patient. Examples:

(a). David suffered from Arachnoiditis (similar to meningitis) for 20 years. Combinations of strong opioids in equivalent dosages, such as Dilaudid 250 mg 4X/day, Morphine Contin and Methadone (which is used to withdraw from Heroin addiction), were used to no avail. He lives on a reclining chair next to the restroom with a TV remote control, but was often too drugged to watch TV.

He came with an epidural catheter inserted by an anesthesiologist to prepare for an installation of a permanent Morphine pump in the body. This has the risk of causing meningitis, and would likely be ineffective based on his response to Morphine.

My first treatment completely relieved his pain. He came back with minimal pain but still had the catheter. After my second treatment, he had the catheter removed. Further therapies cured his pain. He was able to do a side job for me removing and refinishing two 6-foot solid oak doors, all by himself.

When I presented my synopsis, “Chronic Disorders Are Curable with NBE Treatment” in a medical conference at the Maricopa Medical Center in Arizona in 1996, David volunteer to go with me to testify on my behalf, paying for his own airfare. He has had no problem since. See Radio Show 9-10-2009 www.drtong.com.

(b). Judy had suffered for 24/7 pain for 28 years after two failed back surgeries. The severe pain led to two suicidal attempts. She was hospitalized for a month at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, went to LA County-USC Medical Center and other big institutions, which treated her with opioids and other strong drugs all to no avail. She also tried acupuncture, chiropractic and other natural therapies for years, all without relief.

She developed recurrent pneumonia, urinary tract infections, depression, fibromyalgia … and liver problems from excessive drug use. She found us in a newspaper ad while rolling on the floor in pain.

My first treatment completely relieve her right-sided pain. Eventually I cured all her ailments and she went back East in 1907. In a follow up phone call 15 years later, she told me that she goes to a chiropractor occasionally, otherwise has no major symptoms and needs no drugs. .http://drtong.com/2009/02/10/judy-failed-back-surgery-syndrome-

  1. Do your treatments induce any negative addictive side effects like the problems people face when on opioids?

No, since we restore the physical as well as mental health of the patients, not only they have no pain, but also feel happier as well.

  1. Have you ever helped patients turn away from a pain medication addiction and turn to your treatments instead?

Yes, over one hundred thousand patients in 35 years of my practice.

To make this well designed questionnaire complete, I am adding one more question:

11. Will we ever resolve this epidemic drug problem?

Yes, but it will take years or even decades because of these reasons:

There is a lack of interest for a cure of disease in the general population except for patients who cannot find relief from their ailments.

Secondly, American medicine is based on money rather than true healthcare. Note that drugs/surgery battle sickness but never restore health.

Last but not least is karma: As you sow, so shall you reap.

I have learned from TCM that the qi in a physical system, such as the human body or the physical universe, must be balanced in order for the system to last. As the physical universe is eternal, the qi of human affairs must be balanced out.

In the Opium Wars of the 19th century, the West, including the US, had forced the Chinese to buy Opium that was illegal in the West. A century of opium addiction had caused an untold amount of suffering and damages to the Chinese. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/doctor-tong/DmK1l01LSwY

“For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” Today, Nature is returning to China the qi that was robbed from it by the West in the same manner. For example, Fentanyl, a strong Opioid popular in the US, is manufactured in China. And Jim Willie, an eminent political insider, reveals that 70% of street Heroin in the US comes from Afghanistan. https://youtu.be/T6_EBMvb6UY

In summary, the societal healing will begin when the information from this Q & A is widely known by the public.

Meanwhile, don’t hold your breath.
