If you’re interested in safer streets for everyone in Corvallis, you won’t want to miss this upcoming webinar! Dan Burden is a nationally recognized authority on various aspects of sustainable communities, and he will focus his attention on Corvallis during the webinar.

Dan is well known in the field of Active Transportation for his pioneering work helping people, organizations, and governments transform their communities into places for people first – all while still accommodating the automobile. During the past 45 years, he has helped more than 3,000 communities re-invent their streets, neighborhoods, and towns with solutions that focus on walkability, bikeability, and greater safety for all road users.

In 2001, Dan Burden was named by TIME magazine as “one of the six most important civic innovators in the world”. In 2014 the White House recognized him as a Champion of Change in Transportation. Dan’s efforts have earned him two lifetime achievement awards: the first from the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals, and the second from the New Partners for Smart Growth.

With decades of experience as an innovator with transportation agencies and urban design firms, Dan is a sought-after speaker. He currently gives inspirational keynote addresses to many state and national conferences, provides peer reviews, and helps inspire and guide many plans, projects, and policies at local, state, and national levels.

“Great Corvallis Streets” will focus on innovative street design concepts, as well as ideas for making specific Corvallis streets safer for everyone. The public is encouraged to attend.

This event is co-sponsored by the Corvallis Sustainability Coalition Transportation Action Team, Mid-Valley Bicycle Club, and Corvallis SAFE (Streets Are For Everyone).
