PRESS RELEASE
October 10th , 2009 1:00Pm
NYCitiWorks, SAFEDAYEVENTS.COM in association  with Healing Love
Foundation , Humanity Unites Brilliance and Amalgamated Bank come
together to help stop drug assisted rapes.

Safe Day Events offers solutions to drug/date rape.  Children and
adults at risk from predators are educated and assisted with products
and services, awareness programs and cultural events.   Safe Day
Events is a 501c3 non-profit project under NYCitiWorks /
Safedayevents.com.  Its  aim is to make days and nights safer for
everyone, especially from drug-assisted assaults such as date rape,
drug rape, violence and robbery.

One of  NYCitiWorks  founding Members (Since 1980) and actor
extraordinaire ( Goodfellas, Bullets Over Broadway and Home Alone 2
)Fran McGee has been in the business of creating Non-Profits for 30
years.  She will be spearheading a performance project featuring
different plays by Shakespeare with a cast including Hollywood’s best.

We are continually building towards our goal of  $5 million  dollars
and www.AmalgamatedBank.com  is helping contribute to this goal by
funding Safe Day Events $25 when new customers use the
“Refer-a-Friend” program when opening a free personal or business
account with the bank.
“ Amalgamated is committed to the community and supports programs
like www.SafeDayEvents.com that are spearheading educational and
performance based events that focus on safety of all types in our
communities.” Bryan A. Trevino VP & Branch Manager
bryant...@amalgamatedbank.com
Our primary goal is to bless all schools, colleges and  communities
with drink testing technology and Safe Day Event programs that help
them with personal safety and education. We package ready made
campaigns/events that allow for Corporations to offer matching grants
that will raise revenue so individual sponsors can support our
programs.
Safe Day Events has been holding National Safety Awareness Campaign
events since May 2007. These events  widely market Drink (Drug)
Detective . This is (www.drinkdetective.com) a comprehensive biz-sized
card tester detecting over 60 potential date rape drugs in a matter of
seconds. Please click our you tube demonstration link:
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jtYWZXQAwg) According to The
Commonwealth Fund 1998 Survey, one in five women will be sexually
assaulted in their lifetime (Collins KS SC, Joseph S, et al, 1999).
Sexual assault, robbery, and violence is the greatest reported fear on
our college campuses. There is a strong relationship between sexual
assault and drug and alcohol abuse. In a study, "Estimate of the
Incidence of Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault in the USA", 61% of 144
subjects were taking drugs, 35% were raped. (Negrusz, Juhascik,
Gaensslen, 2005). In July 2009, ABC Prime Time aired a program about a
drug and date rapist who was acquitted because all 18 women he
victimized could not remember what happened and thus were unable to
prosecute him in the court of law.
Wales police in London confirmed a 15% reduction in at-risk behaviors
and crimes during one week of having drink detective safety devices
available in their town.
Safe Day Events has already begun duplicating this solution in Hawaii
and New York. We are looking forward to working with communities
across the United States. Safe Day Events plans to enable hundreds of
thousands of individuals to be employed in the work of safety
awareness as we make related products and services available to a
wider audience in our colleges, high schools and elementary schools,
as well as our stores, businesses and communities.
Program Chair Marilyn Rodgers, Safety Education Chair Franne McGee,
Events Chair Thomas Prince, Musical Performance Chair Buck Rodgers,
and Marketing Chair Kathy Foster are currently working on the details,
as well as scores of university students, business and community
volunteers across the country and internationally. Safe Day Events is
in a position to attract the best and strongest corporate and business
collaborators to administer its own Celebrity Endorsement Program :
“Safe Space, Safe Zone” Venue Program and Safety Awareness
Campaign.Safe Day Events   looks to employ about 2,000 to 15,000 part
time positions in all 50 states. Internationally, Safe Day Looks to
create 100,000 part time jobs to benefit Safe Day education.
One of the goals of the creator of  the ‘Drink Detective’ Dr. Stanley
Grossman , is the the manufacturing of the LCE Black Box, (visit
www.safedayevents.com shopping for details) in Africa which will
employ thousands to make boxes for  worldwide broadcasting .

Through its inception, Safe Day has raised over $150,000 through its
own personal contributions.

“The dream of keeping people safe and building a team that inspires
and motivates  positive change in us all is finally being fulfilled.
It brings tears to your eyes to know that the mere mention of this
campaign publicly could save over 15% of the current number of young
women being raped..   Marilyn Rodgers,  NYCitiWorks (Hawaii).
“I only left sight of my drink for a minute…the rest of the night was
a blur” is a quiet cry heard by some of us for many years.
October10th, 2009 in New York City’s Tompkins Square Park at 2pm and
October 23rd , 2009  in Hawaii are the first official SAFE DAYS of
“Safe Drink, Safe Space” Project for the Elimination of
Drug-Facilitated Assault(s), Drug Rape, aka Drink Spiking. This day is
being recognized by many in the States of New York and Hawaii with a
view to raising public awareness about this violation of the rights of
women, men, and children alike.

Why is this step necessary? Because in 2007 and 2008 as many as 50% of
5000 individuals surveyed experienced negative consequences of drug
peddlers and sex predators in our community. As the costs of these
crimes escalate, as physical and emotional scars linger, most
individuals are ready and willing to do something about it. What
exactly is this problem and what can be done to eliminate it? For
answers to these questions visit: www.safedayevents.com.
