Indian Railways APIs

Friends,

I wanted to know if there are any API's available to get the PNR status of trains running under Indian Railways. I need to use it for my application. The Indian Railways API (the ones they have officially released) is way too costly and strict to be used for any start up.

Please let me know if you could provide any guidance in this regard.

Ticket booking may come at a second stage, can i only get the train schedule and seat availability?

It can be a an xls/xml file as rss feed. What say?

Please have a look at http://pnrbuddy.com/hauth/api

pnrBuddy has implemented and exposed free, super fast rest APIs with response in xml and json. Go through their site, I found it the best site and APIs for indian railways related tasks.
