Is AI making hiring better or just making resumes better?

Hi folks,

I'm Shishir, co-founder of Korture.

Over the years, I've hired close to a hundred people across startups. One thing kept bothering me.

Some candidates absolutely nailed the interview, but struggled once they joined.

Others didn't interview particularly well, but turned out to be some of the strongest hires.

Now AI has added another layer to this. Today almost anyone can create an excellent resume, polish their LinkedIn profile, write a compelling cover letter, and even prepare for interviews with AI.

Which makes me wonder - are we actually getting better at hiring, or are candidates simply getting better at presenting themselves?

We're exploring this at Korture using behavioral science and AI to understand how people actually work, instead of relying only on resumes and interviews.

I'm curious whether others hiring today are seeing the same shift.

Have AI tools improved your hiring decisions, or made them harder?

Hi Shishir

Is Tsenta trying to create a similar problem for you? Using AI agents and tailoring the CV specific to the job and then applying.

Thanks

Jaspreet,

Tsenta is doing a very different thing - it helps a candidate auto apply to jobs using AI. We're solving for the culture fit round for any company when hiring for a position. The culture fit round is usually gut feel, instinct based round with generic questions - nothing that actually shows whether the candidate will fit into the role and team. We're using deep behavioral science + AI to make it objective. We don't even need or use resumes.
