From dog walkers texting pictures of happy pups to their owners to snapshots of the weekly lunch menu at a daycare in New Mexico, texts help business owners get their message across in an effective, engaging way.
When I get a picture with a text, touching it pops up a blue check mark beside it, holding a finger on it gives options but no way to enlarge or zoom in on the picture as it used to do. I have checked with two other people both with iOS 13.1.3 but on another iPhone 8 Plus and another on a iPhone 7. Their phones do as supposed to when trying to enlarge a picture in a text message. Very strange.
I had the very first iPhone and never strayed until 2015 when I bought a Samsung. I am back now with an iPhone 10x. Why did I leave? Because of software changes like this. Why would you allow your idiotic product marketing/management team to rollout this update that takes one simple gesture and turns it into 2? Do you actually test it for usability on real humans? Or do you sit around and congratulate yourselves on the genius idea of taking a simple task (enlarge a photo in text) and making it more complicated. I wish Steve Jobs would roll out from his grave and strangle the responsible parties slowly. If only this were the only issue of this sort...please punch them in the hallway for me if you can.
I can't attach a picture to a text message using samsung default Messages app. The only options I get when pressing the + icon left of the input field is 'quick response' and 'shedule message'. I have had the option to attach an image before but I don't remember when the last time it worked. What I have tried so far:
Same thing happened with my phone and my wife's phone. We both have Samsung Galaxy S9. If I take a picture, I can't attach to a text message but I can attach it if I do a screenshot. All this happened after an update, so this is definitely a Samsung issue!
I randomly got a text message from someone i don't know. It said "Feeling cute today" and was followed with a picture of some girl I don't know. I didn't actively click on the picture, nor did I respond. I just deleted it. However my texting app automatically puts up a thumbnail of the picture sent. What are the chances of getting malware from what happened?
Has anyone had a different image appear in their received text message than what the sender originally sent? This is what I'm experiencing. My daughter sent me a picture by text. However, when I open the text message the image was a different picture that was sent to me by someone else in a prior text message. Now get this, If I was to tap on the image to save to my gallery it shows up as the image that should have been showing up in the text message in the first place. To top this off, none of these images were saved in my gallery.
I deleted all text messages last night and then this morning my other daughter sent me a pic of my grandchild and the image again showed up as a image that was sent in a prior text but if I try to save that image to my gallery it saves as the pic of my grandchild.
CORNPUDDING, we don't want this to be an ongoing problem for you. Are you connected to Wi-Fi when you have this issue? Let's try cleaning things up a bit. Delete all unwanted text messages, videos, and pictures on your device. Power it off/on to soft reset it and test the picture messaging feature on your device. Keep us posted.
I received a text message with some pictures. I'd like to print a copy of those pictures. I thought you just use your USB cord and attached it from my Droid X to my computer than searched for those pictures.
Thank you all for the suggestions. We would like to add some additional information. You do need to save the picture first, to your memory card. Then, you can attach the device to your PC with the USB cable. This will transfer all pictures and videos to your computer. You can then print the pictures from your computer.
The problem is that whenever my wife tries to send me a text message with a photo attached, she gets the error "Message Send Failure". This only happens when she is trying to send me the text with a picture attached. She does not have any issues sending to anyone else, just me.
Hey ncavara!
One of the joys of having a smartphone is being able to exchange pictures flawlessly. And considering you've got a top notch phone on our network, we'll let's transition this issue into a resolved status so your wife doesn't continue to receive these failed message errors.
Now, thanks for all you've done thus far with making sure that MMS is enabled and for including details that it seems to only be an issue when she sends a picture your way. So, let's go a different route. The first thing I'd like to recommend is force closing the application. To do so, have your wife double tap the home button twice. Open apps will now open. When she locates messaging, hold it down until it starts shaking in it's boots and select the minimize key so it closes. Next, turn off the device and remove/reinsert the SIM . That will resync the device with our network for optimal service. Go ahead and power it back on and give it a shot now. I hope this helps and please let me know how it goes.

I had a similar problem with getting a "message send failure" when I tried to send photos from my iPhone 5. After trying several suggested fixes with no results, I noticed that all the photos I was trying to send were taken in HDR mode. Photos not taken in HDR mode, on the other hand, transmitted quickly.
I am having a huge delay in sending a picture via text message. At times it takes twenty minutes at others it takes ten minutes, and that is if it sends at all. Regular texts go through right away. The pictures i send are ones i take, or screenshots so they aren't very big. This very annoying, does anybody know what I can do to fix this? It's only in sending, I receive pictures from other people with no problem.
Welcome to our Support Community! As Mike mentioned above, we need to figure out if this is only happening with one specific person or multiple people. Also, is this happening while you're connected to WiFi? If so, trying turning off WiFi to see if the MMS' go through. One last question for ya, is there a delay in picture messages sending when you're in a specific location or does it happen everywhere?
Having to turn WiFi off to.send a picture through text does not sound right to me. I have an iPhone through another carrier and I don't have to turn my wifi off on the phone to send pictures through text. That's a canned answer Tmobile wants you to buy in to and you did .
I have the Motorola z3 it takes me 15 - 20 minutes per picture if I send text on average. Took 30 minutes the other day. Wifi does not help. Small file sizes do not help. Been 15 minutes now for a simple text message that simply said "thank you: to be sent. This is ridiculous. Nothing against T mobile support but this is not an isolated incident. I am seriously thinking of switching carriers as this is a never ending story every single day it seems although it does not happen all the time it happens every day more than once a day. My data usage is less than 4 GB so I should NOT be getting throttled. At first I thought it was my phone but 2 other people I know have the same issue. Now I get a message that the text could not be sent try again - this happens alot as well. I really like Tmobile but this is not working out!!!
This is an issue that has been going on for many years. It happens with *everyone* I send picture messages to, no matter what app I use, no matter where I am, across multiple devices. Occasionally, OCCASIONALLY turning off WiFi helps but it is crap that I have to do that. Even then it takes minutes for the message to send. My threads are full of "sending pic" messages. I currently have a message that has been trying to send for over ten minutes. Most of the time I use other services because of this very issue however there are a couple people that I have to text. This is a T-Mobile issue that "turn off the WiFi" simply is not acceptable and cannot be assumed resolved.
I have Google Pixel devices running Android 10. I can't send picture or GIF or Stickers as MMS on my devices. Also trying when turned off Wi-Fi but still facing issues. Only send text messages and Emojis.
On another note regarding this, when my parents, whom I talked into getting T-Mobile send pictures or I send them images, we get messages that the "download was cancelled" and then a pixelated image. I am not sure why this is occurring. Again, very frustrating when others seem to manage fine.
Many smartphones today allow you to bring your messages to life with pictures, animations and many more features. When you send messages containing such features to other phones, they are sent as photo messages.
More recent device software will usually, but not always, warn you when a text message has been converted to a photo message. Ensuring you have the latest updates applied to your device will decrease the chances of the conversion happening without your knowledge.
When composing a message, if you select a contact who has an email address but no phone number, some devices will convert the message to a photo message. When sending a text message, be sure to select only contacts with phone numbers as recipients.
Check the terms and conditions of any third-party emoji applications and keyboards downloaded from application stores. Some third-party applications and keyboards will send emojis as photo messages. If you are only inserting emojis using the keyboard on your device as part of a text, then a text is usually sent providing you have the latest software for your device.
To find a photo or a video from a texting thread, open the Messages app and tap on the thread you want to search. You can tap on any thread - even if it's a group thread, though you will only see the photos and videos exchanged within that thread (not between you and the contacts in the group).
