9Connect your Facebook account. A code will appear on the screen of the Portal. On a web browser on your computer or smartphone, go to
www.facebook.com/device and enter the code to connect to your Facebook account. Alternatively, you can enter your Facebook password directly on the Portal itself. If you successfully connect your account, a screen should appear confirming this. Press Next to continue.
15. If you want to use the Portal as a digital picture frame, select Preview Facebook Photos, and then Add Facebook Photos in the next screen. You can choose which Facebook albums you want to display. Later, you can also connect your Instagram account if you want to display photos from there, too.
There are two ways you can authenticate Webcaster X1 for Facebook Live to your Facebook account. You can use the device code shown on the front screen of Webcaster X1 (also shown on an HDMI display connected to the HDMI OUT port) or you can login using your Facebook credentials.
Hey everyone! Just jumping in here to note that I'll be locking this thread. The reason being that the original issue was posted back in 2022 which could have a different root issue than any issue nowadays.
If you're having some issues with pairing your app and headset, I'd suggest reaching out on our Get Help boards through a new thread or with a PM to @MetaQuestSupport.
The device code you see in your headset is there to help with pairing your headset to your account. While logged into your Meta account, you should be able to go to
auth.meta.com/device to enter the code you see in your headset in order to pair your headset to your account!
Alternatively, you should be able to pair your headset directly in the mobile app. Once you're logged into your Meta account on the mobile app, your headset should either automatically pair, or you can manually pair by entering the code there. You can also find some more helpful troubleshooting and tips for pairing HERE.
Hi there @boneclaw.1! Thank you for reaching out to us with this question. We have replied directly to your PM in order for us to continue working on this together and look into what is causing this issue for you.
Having trouble with a Facebook or Instagram account? The best place to go for help with those accounts is the Facebook Help Center or the Instagram Help Center. This community can't help with those accounts.
I went to play an online game a few days ago, and it kicked me out telling me to go make a meta account. i do all the steps to make on, and then it tells me to go to
www.meta.com/device to put in the code it prompted me with. I put in the code, and it said an error occurred, Generate new device code. Now i tried again a few days later, after that error happening many many times, and now it says the account I'm using does not match my purchases and stuff on my oculus account, saying I'm using a different account, BUT IM NOT. i really need help because I can't play any games.
1. Make sure you are trying to set up the device with the same account you're logged into on the app (we need to make sure your device is listed on the correct account). You can check this by going here:
having same problem right now, i am good following instructions and updated the quest 2 first, made the meta account etc. figured it was all done and dusted, shut down quest, restarted, and now i cant get into anything, keep trying the code in device and says code expired over and over on a loop and im punching the code in pretty quick, tried turning quest on and off a few times. i think ill try a new browser.
edit: tried the code activation using CHROME instead of FIREFOX.. worked. if you are using FIREFOX try CHROME instead. device will restart after you confirm the code, you know are good to go after that.
I have the same problem too. It keeps asking me to enter code in a mobile or pc browser. I tried both from my phone (android) and my macbook, with different browsers (edge, chrome, safari). After entering the code, in the Quest 2 it said Account Linked for a few second and then follow up by "an error has occurred, generate new device code", and that is looped endlessly.
Hi, I'm having the exact same problem, keeps telling me to input a different code and cannot get past that screen. Tried on both pc and mobile, no luck. However, my meta account is apparently active and knows it's linked to my headset, yet headset itself won't let me progress any further. Please advise as I currently cannot use the headset and it wasn't cheap!
This was happening to me too, I think it had something to do with the fact that I had a FB account and a seperate Oculus account. Try logging out of meta on your browser and relogging in with your Oculus account if you have one.
Implement Facebook Login for Devices at
www.facebook.com/device to allow people to log into your app or service with their Facebook account. This feature allows people to log into devices with limited input or display capabilities such as smart TVs, digital photo frames, or Internet of Things devices.
With device login, your device shows an alphanumeric code and tells people to enter it on a web page on their desktop PC or smartphone. People using your app or service can then grant permissions. After your application gets permissions, the device receives an access token which your app uses to make Graph API requests to identify the person and get information to personalize their experience with the device.
When the code displays on screen, your device polls the Device Login API to see if someone authorized your application. After a few minutes, if they have not entered their code, the Device Login API returns a code_expired error. When your device receives this error you should cancel the login flow and the interface should display the call-to-action.
Display this confirmation on your device until the person clicks a Continue button. Someone may have to enter the code into a computer at another location, so they may need time to return to your device and see the confirmation before continuing.
When someone selects this option, your device should delete the stored access token from its memory. If you store the access token in a database or cloud storage, you should also remove it there. You do not need to make an API call to invalidate the access token.
NETUM strives to provide the most economical and powerful omnidirectional and handheld scanners for retail and supermarket environments. Each scanner is designed for the heaviest of traffic and can be installed directly into a cashier's station, allowing goods to be scanned with a simple swipe of barcode.
Among those competitors NETUM impresses the customer with outstanding product performance plus reasonable prices. For that reason, NETUM omnidirectional and handheld scanners top the chart with some of the best selling models in the world.
Here at NETUM, we offer great services to customers, services such as collecting local commodities, analyzing the barcodes, and then revise our firmware so the scanners can read the local barcodes of special format.
The Microsoft identity platform supports the device authorization grant, which allows users to sign in to input-constrained devices such as a smart TV, IoT device, or a printer. To enable this flow, the device has the user visit a webpage in a browser on another device to sign in. Once the user signs in, the device is able to get access tokens and refresh tokens as needed.
This article describes how to program directly against the protocol in your application. When possible, we recommend you use the supported Microsoft Authentication Libraries (MSAL) instead to acquire tokens and call secured web APIs. You can refer to sample apps that use MSAL for examples.
The client must first check with the authentication server for a device and user code used to initiate authentication. The client collects this request from the /devicecode endpoint. In the request, the client should also include the permissions it needs to acquire from the user.
The verification_uri_complete response field is not included or supported at this time. We mention this because if you read the standard you see that verification_uri_complete is listed as an optional part of the device code flow standard.
If the user authenticates with a personal account, using /common or /consumers, they're asked to sign in again in order to transfer authentication state to the device. This is because the device is unable to access the user's cookies. They're asked to consent to the permissions requested by the client. However, this doesn't apply to work or school accounts used to authenticate.
Don't attempt to validate or read tokens for any API you don't own, including the tokens in this example, in your code. Tokens for Microsoft services can use a special format that will not validate as a JWT, and may also be encrypted for consumer (Microsoft account) users. While reading tokens is a useful debugging and learning tool, do not take dependencies on this in your code or assume specifics about tokens that aren't for an API you control.
The difference between passkeys and passwords is that passkeys are cryptographic key pairs. The key pair is specific to a website. One half is shared with the website, and the other half is private and stored on your device or in your password manager. This technology uses a securely generated code to authenticate your access to websites and apps instead of a password that may be stolen or leaked.
Tip: After you scan the QR code on an Android device, you can choose to remember your computer. If you do, the computer shows your Android device as an option when you need a passkey. When you select it, you receive a notification on your device to verify your identity.
