Hi all,

we are pleased to announce two news items:

1. HDDM version 0.9.7 is out and now allows combining RL models with all the 2-choice sequential sampling models which are part of the package since the LAN-extension. We are grateful for anyone willing to test this new feature set.

2.  The HDDM-LAN extension, which some of you have tried (and in the process greatly helped us with debugging and feature requests), now has an official tutorial paper: Beyond Drift Diffusion Models: Fitting a broad class of decision and RL models with HDDM. The paper systematically carries you through the new capabilities of HDDM, including the HDDMnn classes, the new HDDMnnRL classes, how to extend HDDM with your own models and more. We hope this can help in getting started with the new features. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

We will continue to improve HDDM in response to your feature requests and we will work hard to iron out remaining bugs you may find.

Thank you for supporting HDDM and participating in the hddm-users google goup.

Kind Regards,
Alexander Fengler / Krishn Bera / Michael Frank

Thanks for the update, and for the great package extension!

When using the HDDMnn code, would you prefer a cite to the eLife paper or this new tutorial one?

Hi Anne,

Thank you for using it, and helping us to improve HDDM further :).

Concerning the citations:
At best please cite eLife paper for the method (as the conceptual part that makes possible the analysis of model variations),
and the tutorial paper for the actual usage of the package (as the convenient user interface).

Best,
Alex
