Hello,

My team has been contracted to build an integration platform which must integrate and share data with a nationwide health network.

My question is this: Can hData be extended to allow for a different schemas which are not specific to health care data?  We want to do this because we are implementing hData at an enterprise level which will include the health schema (plan on using out of the box hData) AND the extended version.  We already know it will work for the Health data, but if it will also work for the non-health data, it would be a big bonus for us as our developers would only have to learn 1 format, which we want to extend.

Thank you,
Clint Wilde

Clint -

Absolutely. You can definitively use hData with any XML schema or even with non-XML media types. With the feedback we have received form HL7, we have updated the specifications, and we will upload a newer version of the specification to the web page in the next few days. Hopefully, this aspect will become more clear.

Best regards,

Gerald,

Thanks for the feedback.

I am also looking for more information about the RESTful interface
implementation for hData. I have read through the API spec (http://
www.projecthdata.org/documents/pubs/hData%20RESTful%20API%20Specification-v13.pdf),
but I am looking for something less detailed, like a quick start
guide.

I want to play around with the hData/L32 manipulation via a REST
interface on my local dev box.

I have gone through your website, but have no found a quick start
guide for setting up the REST interface. Do you have such a quick
start guide?

Thanks,
Clint

Hi Clint -

We do not have a "fast start" right now, but if this is something that you find useful, we could work on this. Would you be available to help us set the right tone and content for such a doc? Also, we do have a short video tutorial in the pipeline - please stay tuned for the release.

Finally, i am including the latest versions of the specs - note that they are currently under HL7 review, and will likely see some more changes.

Best,

Gerald Beuchelt
