Determining last modified date from metadata

Do we want to make it easier to determine the last modified date of a section document using its metadata? Right now we have a place to put the creation date, but then we have a list of modified times. You could certainly take all of the dates in that list and find the latest one, but that seems like more work than necessary. Should we require that ModifiedDateTime elements be ordered? I don't think we can enforce this in XML Schema, but I would be OK with that.
