Congratulations are In Order for Our 2016 Scholars
On June 17, Mississippi Public Broadcasting posted an article on high school graduation entitled
HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION RATE REACHES RECORD HIGH. This year, more than 80% of the 2016 seniors in Mississippi received a high school diploma. That's 2% more than 2015, and 6% more than 2014. We can praise God for our 2016 graduates as well as those who are on their way to graduation.
Our state is still behind the national average of 82%, but we are closing the gap. Whatever we can do at Harvest Celebration to help close this gap in the near and distant future, we certainly should do it. We can, we have, and by the grace of God we will continue to make a difference.
Thanks to the team that help to organize the celebration this year. Thanks to Camille Stutts Simms who inspired all of us during our Night of Academic Recognition and Reception last Wednesday. Thanks to every parent, grandparent, and relative involved in the success of our scholars.
June 19th -- A Really Great Day at Harvest Celebration
Fathers will be honored in a special way. Two of our deacons will be the speakers. It's also First Lady Angela Scott Birthday.
This Father’s Day, the women of HCEC will be honoring the fathers at both services on Sunday, June 19, 2016. We want every father present to be recognized, so please register the fathers in your life who will be attending either service.
Don't forget to click on the graphics below to let us know about the father who will join us for service on June 19th.

Great things are happening at Harvest. We hope to see you this weekend.
Join me preaching on the road in June.
The first stop is in Foxworth, Mississippi with Pastor David Smith and the members of New Jerusalem COGIC. Let me know if you will take the trip with me.
