Hey all!

It just occured to me that we have really alraedy accomplished 2 huge
goals this year, and I wanted to thank you all for your help in doing so!

Although it is good to stay focused on raising the incredible sum of
$30,000 for the marathon in order to provide Sai Qi with its operationg
costs and renovation funds for the next year, I'd like to highlight the
successes we've already had this year:

* So far, we've sent 11 THOUSAND dollars (yes, $11,000) to China this
school year alone * Considering the fact that Harvard China Care began the
year with a balance in its bank account that was only 1/10th this amount,
i'm pretty damn proud of us.

1) we SAVED A GIRL's LIFE by raising and sending $5,000 for her heart
surgery. - Guo Yan Fei is actually undergoing the surgery in the next few
days, I think, so we'll hear more about that situation soon

2) We just sent $6,000 to Sai Qi earlier this week, to help them hire new
nannies and buy supplies for the impoverished orphans that live there.
They should be moving into their new building soon, with the help from our
marathon funds!

*speaking of the marathon funds - I am going to send out the email for the
runners to forward in the next few days. Please check out the AMAZING
webpages that are on our HCC website about the marathon - Shelley Jiang,
our vice prez, did an absolutely astounding job creating the webpage and
is officially the coolest person on the planet. Go to
www.hcs.harvard.edu/~care/marathon.html to view the wonders that i speak
of. If you are a marathon runner (Eric, Megumi, Jenny, Dave & stephanie -
you MUST CHECK OUT THE SITE! It looks SO GOOD, and you want to be familiar
with it when people ask you how to donate!!!!)

We'll have another fundraising meeting soon in the next week or so. Stay
tuned for my suggestion of a time and place - it will probably be late
next week if everyone is available :)

Thanks all and talk to you soon! Congratulations on kicking ass so far
this year, with much more ass kickingness to come in the next few months!

Aidan
