Fundraising Update! *URGENT*!!!

Hey HCC Fundraising team!

I know that now is a busy time for many - people are busy writing
everything from their thesis to their expos papers, completing problem
sets and generally being busy little bees

*BUT*

THE MARATHON IS CREEPING UP ON US LIKE CRAZY AND WE HAVE A LOT THAT NEEDS
GET DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are some tasks that were brought up at the (sorely attended,
harruumph) Fundraising Meeting Yesterday:

1) THE MARATHON EMAIL. Send the email to EVERY list you are on - send it
to your family, your friends - your best friend's cousins's dog's sister
twice removed. we want absolutely *everyone* to hear about this and to
donate!!!!!

2) The Letter! We will be getting together sometime next Thursday/Friday
to address the letters and have a fun, envelope-stuffing party! Now, I am
going to work hard to ensure that we meet at a time when *everyone* can
make it, so there will be no excuses for you not to show up!!!!!!

3) Thank-you Notes! We need thank-you note buddies for our runners!
Basically, this will be a VERY simple job. I check the website daily to
find out how much is being donated, and to which runners. I will assign
you to a runner, and send you updates on who is donating to this runner
(give you donors name, address, amount donated, etc). Your job is simply
to *keep track* of this information - create an excel spreadsheet with it.
Then, we will have a Thank-you note party in a week or two, where we all
get together and write-up China Care Thank you cards and address them and
mail them to the donors :)
The runners who need thank-you note buddies are:
-Jennifer Neeper
-Eric Hoke
-David Toniatti
-Joelle Hobeika
-Stephanie Toth

*if you are a runner and would prefer to do up your own thank-you notes
but your name is on this list, please let me know - its no use asking our
fundraising team to write up thank-yous if you are going to do them
yourselves anyways! We have cards, too, so don't go out and buy any - we
have official China Care cards!

Other updates:

1) Eva will be sending out the Press Releases this weekend. If you are a
runner and haven't send her your info yet - please do!

2) I will be contacting asian churches in the area to see if they would be
willing to have us speak to their congregation about HCC, show the CCF DVD
and ask if individuals would be interested in sponsoring the marathon
runners. If you are interested in helping me go to these churches sunday
mornings for the next few weeks, please let me know!

3) We need an individual to send out the generic marathon runner email to
the following houses:
-Winthrop, Eliot, Adams, Kirkland. Anyone out there willing to do this?
Zhenzhen - could you send the one for megumi to leverett?


That's all for now! we are hopping around busy so please respond to what
i've asked as promptly as possible - i realize that everyone is totally
crazy right now! :)
