The Indian innovation ecosystem has over the past few decades redefined the business landscape and today an innovation-led SME has an equal and in some cases better chances of success in the market than a conventional large industry player. This innovation ecosystem is no longer a physical concept, and does not cater to geographical limitation. The Indian innovation ecosystem, particularly, has a lot to learn from the global ecosystems and make it work better and in a more efficient manner for the Indian industry players.

 

In order to bridge the gap between the current state and desired future and to realise the huge potential for India, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in collaboration with Department of Science & Technology, Government of India is organising the ‘Global R&D Summit 2015’ – a two day integrated conference and exhibition to be held from December 7-8, 2015, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The theme of the conference is – ‘Leveraging International Cooperation to boost Indian Innovation Ecosystem’. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Union Minister for Science & Technology & Earth Sciences, Govt. of India is likely to inaugurate the Global R & D Summit 2015 & Expo.

 

The Global R&D Summit organized annually is a flagship event , entirely focused on the emerging areas of science and technology developments around the world and putting it in an Indian context to create synergies for all stakeholders. The Summit is a joint effort of the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

 

Last year, the Summit witnessed coming together of more than 70 subject- and domain- specific speakers from India and abroad who were engaged across 8 high-powered panel discussions and thematic sessions organized over the two days of the Summit. The audience turnout for the Summit was more than 400. Some of the countries which were represented in this summit included USA, France, UK, Japan, France, Sweden, Trinidad & Tobago, Germany, and South Korea. The Summit is attended in equal measures by representatives from the Government, Industry, and the Academia.

 

Concurrent to the conference, the summit will also host an exposition to showcase some of the major achievements and capabilities of leading R&D-focused organizations from industry, government and academia. It will offer tremendous opportunities for exhibitors to display some of their cutting-edge Innovations, Technologies, products and solutions to key customers, decision makers, business buyers, investors, scientific community and the media at large.

 

The event aims to be a magnanimous milieu of policy-makers, startup leaders, innovators, investors, entrepreneurs, academia, industry, and international agencies. It will also render a high level networking opportunities with various actors from across the globe to Create, Connect and Collaborate to make the Indian Innovation Ecosystem the best in the World.
