We are looking forward to a great year. To kick things off right, we
decided to plan a trip up to Maine for an early year retreat over the
weekend of Sept. 17-19th. We wanted to get out and enjoy the outdoors
before it gets too cold! Here is the basic itinerary:

• Friday: Drive (5hrs) to the Penobscot River in Maine.
Spend the night in Lean-tos/Tents and have a campfire.

• Saturday: Raft the Penobscot River. This is a very
exciting, somewhat adventurous river (there are Class V rapids!). As
someone who has done it before, it is a lot of fun. After rafting,
which ends around 4:30, we will drive 2.5 hrs to Bar Harbor, ME. Bar
Harbor is a great seaside, Maine town known for some great lobster.
We will spend the night in hotels.

• Sunday: There are options including kayaking, biking, and
climbing. Depending upon interest, we will set this up. Then we will
have a 5 hr drive back to Boston with a target return to campus around
6PM.

All activities and lodging combined will cost approximately $200-$250
for the entire weekend.
