Dear HBS Members
I hope you had a great Easter break.
This message applies only to financial Society members eligible to vote, all members on the existing Committee are due for election this year.
That means that any HBS financial member wishing to assist with the events held by the Society, and can help out with Committee business, can seek nomination. The deadline for doing this is Thursday 21 April 2022.
Details have been posted to Facebook describing the preferred nomination process using email.
If you know someone who could support the Committee in either the Treasurer's or Secretarial roles, or as a Committee member then please make contact to discuss their nomination.
Under the existing Constitution, email nominations are as follows:-
To nominate someone for the Committee send an email as the proposer thus:
"I, [your name], nominate [there name] for HBS Committee seconded by [seconder's name]".
You send that email to hamilto...@gmail.com and copy it to the nominee and the seconder.
The person you have nominated replies to hamilto...@gmail.com to acknowledge that they accept their nomination, while the seconder sends an email back to hamilto...@gmail.com confirming that they second the nomination.
We try to avoid using paper-based forms because that necessitates validation of the signatures in order to confirm authenticity and validity of each nomination. In addition, the NZ Post system isn't really reliable enough to ensure that any nomination sent through the post to the Committee, will actually arrive at all, let alone prior to the deadline of 21 April 2022.
What are the roles on the Committee?:
Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer plus five (5) Committee members.
Four nominations have been received thus far.
