Thanks Albert, here is a brief description:

6-8 week internship opportunity starting in late January or February:

Project Description:

To assist Venrock and one of its portfolio companies with business development strategy. The portfolio company specializes in the commercialization of innovative medical technologies in international markets. The intern will be working with the CEO of the portfolio company to develop the criteria set for selecting medical technologies for the portfolio company to commercialize and will be screening the late-stage-development and early-commercialization universe of primarily public and venture-backed medical technology companies to establish a target list of products and companies. This project would provide the intern with an opportunity to learn about leading medical technologies in late-stage-development and early-commercialization, to evaluate different medical technology commercial business models in an international context, and to help Venrock’s portfolio company establish its business development goals for the next 12 to 18 months.

Candidate Background:

The ideal candidate would have the following:

·  Technical skill-set (eg: medical degree or biomedical engineering degree) to easily understand how medical technology works, how it would be used in a clinical setting, how it differentiates from similar technologies, etc

·  Experience working for a medical device company – ideally in a commercial or business development role.

The candidate needs to be a self-starter, independent thinker, and comfortable with strategy-type projects where one needs to creatively develop structured processes and to comprehensively collect and evaluate data to tackle complex business issues. This project would be ideal for someone interested in medical technology and/or medical technology investing.

Interested candidates should send their resumes to fas...@venrock.com
