Dr. Una Ryan, President & CEO of the Cambridge-based non-profit enterprise Diagnostics for All will be speaking about DFA's dedication to creating low-cost, easy-to-use, point-of-care diagnostics specifically designed for the 60% of the developing world that lives beyond the reach of medical access. At DFA, Dr. Ryan has combined her academic, medical and corporate leadership experience to build a sustainable non-profit business. She will describe DFAs innovative approach to creating diagnostics and discuss tactics for growing a business that serves the developing world, as well as touch on how she has combined strategies from both the for-profit and non-profit sectors to create an effective, flexible business model.
Following Dr. Ryan's presentation, discussion will be led by Vinit Nijhawan and Joel Lamstein, prominent experts in technology, global health, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Maggie Huff-Rousselle, Executive-in-Residence at Boston University will moderate the event.
