About the Speaker:
Philip Levinson is a venture advisor at Learn Capital (www.learncapital.com), a Silicon Valley VC firm focused on education and technology, working directly with several of their portfolio companies, including SchoolTube and Edmodo. He also manages business development for TigerText (www.tigertext.com), a successful VC-backed company that provides secure messaging services to the healthcare sector. Phil previously co-founded CatchTV, which raised VC funding in 1996 and was acquired by OpenTV in 1999. He was also the first advisory board member of eBay—joining the company in fall 1996 when there were three employees. In 2005, Phil was recruited by Disney to help manage and build one of their portfolio companies, VoodooVox (a mobile ad services and analytics company), which was acquired by CallGenie in 2012. Phil has lectured on venture capital and high-tech entrepreneurship topics at Harvard, Stanford and Cal, as well as at numerous conferences.
