Spamming of the console by RVIZ2 info messages ... etc

Many packages (e.g. rviz2, map_server, and more) flood the console with INFO messages. I have tried all documented ways to set the log level, either for one node or globally, and none have worked. Does anyone?

You could always redirect stdout to the old bit bucket at /dev/null. Or both stderr and stdout. I think the logs as still written to ~/.ros/log if you need them

Yes, but I would not see actual errors; also the log would be equally polluted; also why do none of the documented ways of controlling the logging work (for me?)

Oh, you should use the documented way. I just never remember how to set the configuration value. I also take care of the launch so it generates all the stuff I need to see to start and then it’s pretty quiet until navigation kicks in. But if you just don’t want to see the logs …
