All:

Michael Cipriano is the new HBRC web master taking over
this task from Bill Benson. <Round of applause!>

The HBRC web server is being transitioned from a low
bandwidth DSL connection to a server running in Bill
Benson's home office to a much higher bandwidth server
running in the Internet cloud somewhere. It should be
relatively transparent to all of you, other than the
fact that bandwidth will increase. If for some reason,
the HBRC server goes off line for a little bit, please
bear with us, it probably just a glitch.

This mail list is already running off of Google groups
and will be affected by the HBRC web server transition.
Michael will send out a message after the transition is
over.

Lastly, Bill Benson will be retaining the secretary
and treasurer position and will be leading the charge
to get HBRC registered as a California Unincorporated
Association. This will take many months, but in the
end will allow HBRC to have its own checking account
among other things. As I say, I'll talk about this
next meeting.

Wayne,

I think you mean "...will not be affected..." relative to the Google group,
don't you?

No trees were harmed in the sending of this message; however, a large number
of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Jim:

Yes, you caught a typo on my part. I meant that the mail list
will *not* be affected by the server move.

Hey the website says the Sig meets the 2nd Wednesday of the month? I
thought it was always the week before the general meeting.

Just wanted to be sure there wasn't something going on with Google Groups.

The website says both and therefore is contradictory. It is the next to
last Wednesday of the month, ergo a week before the main meeting.

Tim

I would rather have a mind opened by wonder than one closed by belief.
