This is just what I've wanted.  More resolution on the color camera would be nice, but otherwise seems very good.  They fail to mention power, details on thermal, etc.  And they should clarify if the stack is partly or completely open source, hackable, can run additional code or modules.

But still interesting in any case.  Supposed to ship in June 2026.

Beyond this, I'd like a secondary simpler version to pair with this:
Just a wide field of view BW camera that registers direction & pose.  I want something just like the Meta Quest 2/3 inside-out-tracking based on visual flow.

Looper is doing a high-quality version of that with a full VSLAM stack, plus more processing.  That is perfect for the robot's 'head'.  Also need the more limited, more compact capability for end effectors that can have absolute reference from the head anchor point, perhaps relative to the environment, in a small low-power package.

They mention the D-Robotics RDK X5, so here is a link to more about the
'default' software support: https://developer.d-robotics.cc/en/rdkstudio

The board itself is here: https://developer.d-robotics.cc/en/rdkx5

So, not sure, how much different that would be in terms of 'openness'
from the Pi5+HAILO?!

I saw that they are using that board.  Packaging it with nice cameras, in a sealed heatsink enclosure.

Hopefully the software is all or almost all open source, hackable, will evolve.
