While NO parts are included, the boards are just under the size of a credit card,
are two sided, have a hooked up 754410 dip (a 1 amp dual H bridge) & support for
an ISP with the 6 pin (3 x 2) header. Most port pins are brought out to 3 pin male
headers. It has a 4 pin inline serial port (but depending on your set up, you may
have to do some rework on this) and headers for 2 motors and dc power. There is
also on board a 5V regulator using a TO-220 7805 regulator, a place for a power
LED, a place for one of those spiffy Spark Fun tactile switches for reset, & a
reasonable sprinkling of places for capacitors. There is a place for a 3 pin
resonator. There is a diode in line with the dc supply 7-14V to protect against a
power applied in reverse.
All headers are on .1" centers.
There is a place for a AVR ATMega dip in the ATMega 48/88/168/328 family.
There are 4 holes, one in each corner to allow the board to be connected
This board coupled with the other Bot50 parts allows one to build an entry level
bot that will run motors out of the chute for about $40. It also is a handy little
board to have lying around.
Both Dennis & I replaced our solderless breadboards with this board for our
Bot50. Dennis is also using it to build a small 2 wheel balancing bot & a couple
other things that he put together for demo'ing at our FRRC meeting. I also think
that Dennis used it for his Critter Crunch bot. I'm making a mini sumo board and
have a couple of others lying around to develop other parts standalone to
integrate into my other bots.
Working code, a schematic, a parts list, and help are also available from the both
of us for free. It works with the gcc/avr studio tool set for AVR which are very
solid & complete open source tool set for developing C code for the AVR. While
avr studio is only for Windows, the rest works on either a MAC & Linux.
You can find Dennis' email address in the list groups for SRS & PARTS. I'm not
sure about HBRC. His email generally shows up as dlc & DLC.
Send him an email if you're interested.
DISCLAIMER - I have no financial interest in this. I'd just like to see his kids be
