Yep, this is an LTS release everyone should be on soon.

I have to figure out my dev environment transition though. The problem is that Ubuntu 26.04 does not allow "apt do-release-upgrade" yet - until the September release of 26.04.1. Yes, you can use "-d" flag to force it, but that's a bit scary.

I do have clean installs of the Ubuntu 26.04 on a lawnmower dev PC and an on-board RPi4 - all went smoothly.

Well, a couple of setbacks:
- Nav2 (ros-lyrical-navigation2) hasn't been released for Lyrical yet - https://docs.nav2.org/roadmap/roadmap.html
- Gazebo Jetty doesn't seem to react on mouse wheel (zoom in-out) - seems to be a common problem in Ubuntu 26.04

Other packages not yet released:
- ros-lyrical-slam-toolbox
- ros-lyrical-cartographer-ros

Looks like we'd better wait for a couple months before committing to Lyrical.
