Hi everyone

A couple of years ago I bought a laptop with Vista on it.  I intended to dual boot with Pclos but at the time couldn't manage it so it's standalone Pclinuxos.

My camera software is for Windows or Mac so I'd like to try Windows on the machine, and the dual boot.  I did install Win XP but couldn't install the graphics driver because the laptop is 64 bit and the Win XP disc is 32 bit.  I'm now wondering about trying Vista again so I can have the camera software for when I'm away, but don't have a disc - it was pre-installed.

Can anyone help with either:
finding a way to install a graphics driver; or
lending me Vista Home 64 bit CD

Many thanks
Rose

Why do you need the camera software?
If its just for importing the images, you would be better off with a USB
multi card reader

I take photos in RAW format, so need the software to convert to jpeg.  I can do it with digikam and touch images up with GIMP, but am used to the camera software and Photoshop now.

I use a USB card reader to upload the photos.

You could try Virtualbox.
I have an old version of Photoshop in a WinXP Virtualbox. I also print
all my photos from the Canon printing software via Virtualbox as well,
seeing as printing photos from linux is hopeless.

Don't think I'll bother.  I can view the photos using digikam, so I'll just wait til getting home to process them.

Thanks for your ideas.  I get mine printed at Harvey Normans - too expensive doing it at home.

Might be just up Chris' alley - this one.

Rather then persist with webshots or photobucket or the like, I'm wondering
if I can store a number of pix on my hosting account so I can link to them in
e-mails and forums? (I.e. )

I already have jpgs on my hosting account, but they're used to serve up images
to my own web pages, only. However, I don't want something that's intended
for viewing (single or slide show) by the general weblic, unless I elect to provide
the URL to a single image, to someone.

Any straight-forward s/ware recommended?

Looking for a place to host your web site idea?

Look no further than this company.
I use them for my web sites.

How did I get an Internet address/domain name?
I bought it from this company for $NZ27 for 3 years.

Cheap? You betcha! You can do it, too. Click on
either of the links to check for yourself.

I do the same thing - Just FTP them into a viewable directory on the public side of the server.
As long as you know what the filenames are you should be able to serve them as you have described.
No html or software required.
