I saw "amazing_c**ks" as a thread name earlier and I'd prefer to just turn that off now than explore what else might come up.

Thanks,

Hi Scott!

You were really unlucky in the random name generation. We're really not trying to be cheeky or inappropriate, honest :)

The naming you're referring to is the name given to the instance, so it's easier to refer to in a cluster. The naming scheme is referred to as "moby naming" and when implementing it, we simply copied the list from https://github.com/moby/moby/blob/master/pkg/namesgenerator/names-generator.go.

I assure you this was not intentional, but if you still would like to avoid this naming, you can use the "hazelcast.member.naming.moby.enabled" ClusterProperty - https://github.com/hazelcast/hazelcast/blob/bc999276708fca7572f1f8d12467a76c97ff6fbb/hazelcast/src/main/java/com/hazelcast/spi/properties/ClusterProperty.java#L1576-L1589.

Regards,
Matko

Sounds good. Thanks Matko. I've done far worse with spell checker suggestions that I've developed.

Thanks,
  Scott
