Please don't feed the swans ...

Dear neighbours, there is alarming news from London concerning the increasing numbers of swans in the Thames dying of suspected Avian Flu. 

David Ellis, a tireless observer of Oxford swans, suspects that Black-headed Gulls might be carriers of the disease, and he has asked me to alert locals not to throw pellets etc. into the water if the gulls are around.
