Preparing
for a
Sustainable
Summer

As
we head
towards
summer, Clara
has pulled
together some
sustainable
ideas to
prepare for
the warm,
sunny season
ahead. Maybe
now’s a good
time to
renovate your
garden
furniture?
Ever
considered
hiring the
clothes you
need for that
upcoming
summer
wedding? Or
even could
some canny
planting in
the garden or
simple
insulation
tweaks in the
loft keep you
cool on the
hotter days?

We
love helping
people keep
their things
working well
for longer,
and
electricals is
such an
important
piece of this,
helping cut
down that
e-waste
mountain. So
we were
pleased to
learn more
about the Recycle
Your
Electricals
team and our
newest
partner,
HypnoCat.
If

fix or dispose
of, Emma has
pulled
together a
summary of
local options
here in
Oxfordshire to
keep them in
use or recycle
to recover the
precious
materials
within.

and Rescuing
this Month

After
another good
OCA Tech
Rescue this
morning (we’re
back on 3rd
June), bookings are now open for
next week’s
Makespace
events, with
plenty of
slots for Tech
Rescue and
last few
repair café
slots as well.
As
a reminder:

Rescue is
focused on IT,
helping you
use your
devices
effectively or
securely
passing on
unwanted kit
to Getting Oxfordshire Online.

Our
Sunday Repair
Café team
repair all
sorts of
electrical,
mechanical
things, bikes,
clothes and
more.
