We want to sell your car for you. And maximize your profitability. That's why we use a set price instead of a percentage. We will research the latest information for your particular car and land on a retail price. We will then give you an amount that we will deliver to you. It won't be the full price, obviously, but will be significantly above a wholesale price.
Since 1991, we have been doing the finest, award-winning classic car restoration and detailing in the region. Visitors to our shop will find a mix of European and American cars. Some of the projects we decide to accept are family cars that have sentimental value. It's fun to bring these cars back to new condition and know that we are helping preserve some family history for the next generation.
Before a restoration starts, the car is thoroughly examined both technically and cosmetically, while the history and car numbers are researched in our own vast library, with its thousands of reference books and factory car manuals.
Fixed price for replacement/manufacturing/repair of corroded or damaged panels. We have very skilled craftsmen with sophisticated machinery, capable of working on steel, aluminium or glass-fibre, depending on the material from which the car has been built.
Oldtimer, classic car, muscle car... whatever. Also, we will preserve as much as possible from original parts. We will work on complete restoration, more like complete renewal of the vehicle. That will ensure longer life and extended durability.
Almost 50 years of experience, oldtimer and classic car restoration is behind us. And a huge number of vehicles that were set back on the road in perfect condition. Yes, it is a lot of work. Because that cars needed it. And it was our pleasure to bring them back to life one more time...
In 1997 this unique automotive restoration program attracted the attention of classic car enthusiast Jay Leno who established the Fred S. Duesenberg Scholarship and the Jay Leno Popular Mechanics scholarship. Both scholarships continue to provide financial assistance to students interested in studying classic automotive restoration. His involvement raised awareness of the program in the car collector community.
Most of my students will stay with this work as a hobby but some are professionals in body shops who would like to learn the old techniques so they can repair again. For the last 20 years, the job has been about buying body parts and changing them instead of repairing. For sustainability reasons, we should consider repair and doing the job correctly.
The Piston Academy is developing a similar educational experience, where those with some education can apprentice to learn the trade at a level the industry needs for quality restoration work. There are two approaches to such a school: a physical location for a school or multiple locations where apprentices learn at participating shops.
Financially, it could be better to work with existing shops. I think that only high-end shops would be willing to participate, which would be good to ensure quality teaching. In a previous job as a technical trainer/consultant, I was responsible to train all the Belgian and European students that came to us. What I noticed was that, even between trainers, there was a lot of difference in quality even though we set a high standard. You have to be on it all the time to maintain a level of quality.
With youth, their focus is often on mobile phones and not the car. Most of my students are more than 40 years old, though I had a younger student about 30. And, a father is bringing his two teenage sons because they are interested in classic cars.
English is my third language. My first and second are Dutch and French. That helps a lot but we find common ground in the work. Language becomes less important as we share our passion. In one training session, I was using French and Dutch because there was only one French-speaking guy. We became a team toward the end of the course. You can see people opening up as they share the car.
Make a gift that helps the next generation access the education and training they need to begin a career as a classic car technician. Gifts of any size are appreciated and will be used to fund our scholarship and apprenticeship programs.
Feel free to stop by our shop during normal business hours to look over our current inventory of Porsche 356, 911 and 912 models available for sale, or to view current restoration projects in progress. The utmost care will be taken with your Porsche upon arrival to evaluate the vehicle and determine all items that need to be addressed, if any, to recondition your car to peak resale presentation. CPR has created checklists for the various models to record car condition upon receipt and to help the owner understand the car's flaws, if any.
CPR Classic, in most instances, will perform all of the work required to your Porsche with no up-front, out-of-pocket costs. All advertising, detailing and preparation are included in our consignment service. All major repairs, if any, will be discussed with and approved by the client prior to CPR performing any work.
Once reconditioning (if required) is complete, your Porsche will receive an extensive photo shoot covering all bases including the undercarriage. The photos will then be professionally edited and published on the CPR Classic website along with multiple third-party advertising companies that we work with.
Ask about our Guaranteed Sales Program. We will purchase your car for a pre-agreed price in the event it did not sell during the agreed consignment period. Call our Sales Department today for further details about this and all other programs available for selling your car.
CPR Classic performs comprehensive Pre-Purchase Inspections. Because we have complete body and mechanical shops where we perform our remanufactured quality restorations, we are uniquely qualified to perform a PPI on any Porsche. Our mechanics are among the best in the business. They are intimately familiar with each and every mechanical system on early Porsches. Each day they rebuild and assemble early Porsches from the shell up.
Our body men are equally as talented. Most of the cars that they encounter on a daily basis are dismantled to the shell and completely restored to factory specifications. As such they are intimately familiar with every nut and bolt on every early Porsche.
Most shops specialize in either the body or the mechanicals. Body men are not good at analyzing mechanicals, and mechanics are not very good at analyzing bodies. This necessitates taking your car to 2 shops, an inconvenience nobody needs.
As the high-revving 911 GT3 Cup cars making up the Porsche Carrera Cup North America field concluded its race weekend on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) track Sunday, a champion of the Classic variety was being crowned in the Victory Circle.
After months of diligent work, documentation and check-ins, the 1989 Porsche 911 Targa G-Model restored by Porsche Ontario won top honors over the 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Targa Type 964 from Porsche Dallas and 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Type 964 from Porsche Warrington.
Judging panels throughout the competition have included Porsche Classic and Porsche Cars North America area managers and experts, and scoring was based on a rubric which looked for authenticity, craftsmanship and, most importantly, a smooth-running engine. In the end, the RS-inspired build from Porsche Ontario marked every box and impressed the PCNA reps and fans.
The U.S. is home to more classic Porsche sports cars than any other market in the world. After decades on the road, some will inevitably be in need of a little extra care. Enter the Restoration Challenge, where Porsche Classic encouraged U.S. dealerships to acquire a car that was due for some expert technical attention to ensure many more years of driving pleasure. The 2021 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge saw close to 40 dealerships from around the country take part. Teams of certified Porsche Technicians and the official catalog of 60,000 unique Porsche Classic Genuine Parts were enlisted to return the cars to their former glory. Represented in the competition were Porsche 356 models from as early as 1956, five generations of the 911, transaxle models like the 944 and 928, as well as modern classics such as the first-generation Boxster, which is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary.
When Porsche Warrington acquired its 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Type 964 it was in need of a total makeover down to the carpet. Most pressing, however, was the neglected Marine Blue Metallic paint that had been peppered, burned and scratched after years on the asphalt. The complete respray was one of many details that elevated the era-appropriate restoration to Area East winner.
