OpenFL mimics the Flash API, if you want to make 2D games that uses
Flash IDE for graphics or have knowledge in Flash programming, that's
the best choice.

Heaps brings a brand new API optimized for GPU, it can handle both 2D
and 3D (and mix between the two) and have a powerful shader system to
create your own GPU shaders. It's not yet 1.0 and documentation is sparse.

Hope that helps,

Nicolas

Luxe has active gitter, and Kha an active IRC both with respective
authors often around, does Heaps have an active channel somewhere with
some experts around or is that more likely when Heaps reaches 1.0 ?

Not atm, I will setup such a place when I'm ready for some kind of
official release. Heaps has been stable for some time now, 1.0 is one of
my goals for this new year :)

I've been following HEAPS development for about a year now and am anxious to really try it out.  Once there is a 1.0 release with sufficient documentation I will attempt to convince my employer to try it.

Looking forward to seeing where HEAPS is heading to in 2016 :)
