Hi every one,

Someone asked about the better solution between OpenFL and Unity3D for modile game development.

Could you help me to find pro and cons ?

Thx

Hi,

They're quite different.

- Unity is an IDE. OpenFL is a set of tools.
- Unity deals with assets (graphics, scripts, etc.). OpenFL is a platform for running Haxe on multiple platforms.

I think you want to compare Unity3D to some Haxe game frameworks, like HaxeFlixel, HaxePunk, Snow, or others. In those cases, you're getting a 2D game engine (usually with physics, etc. built in).

You got a point but Unity is more a game engine than an IDE.

I found an interesting discution here
https://m.reddit.com/r/gamedev/comments/2irubf/why_i_think_haxeopenfl_is_great_for_indie_devs/

But it's a quite old thread, so anything new ?
