Hi Community,

I don't know how many Argentinians are using HaxeFlixel but I thinks there are a few using it. This is to let you all know that Adam Atomic, the original creator of Flixel, is going to be visiting Argentina and doing a conference. More info: https://www.facebook.com/ConferenciasVJ/photos/a.858216854196383.1073741829.855497934468275/873573372660731/?type=1&permPage=1

The other international guests are Soren Jonson from civilization, Al Lowe from Leisure suit Larry and Jonathan Hammel from Tomb Raider 2013.

They usually upload the talks to youtube so If you are not from around here you will be able to see the conference anyway.

You got Schafer last year?! damn. How is the Argentinian indie gamedev scene btw? I know that your neighboring Uruguay has got it going with Ironhide and they're just over the Rio de la Plata :)

We have a very healthy scene. We have next to Brasil and Mexico the biggest game industry of latinoamerica. Companies here make games for EA Sports, Sony, Cartoon Network, Disney, Adult Swim, etc... The big companies are gathered around http://adva.com.ar/

This gives us a big indie scene on the outskirts. We gather mainly on the community that I'm admin and we want to inspire other countries of the region. We work closely to ADVA : https://www.facebook.com/groups/comunidad.duval/?ref=ts&fref=ts

Our most famous things are:

Daniel Benmergui: He won several awards with Storyteller and moon stories. He is in charge of inviting people for these conferences because he knows a lot of people thanks to the awards he got on indiecade and IGF. He also is in charge of the EGW sessions of the GDC that previously was organized by Jonathan Blow. http://www.ludomancy.com/blog/

Agustín Cordes: He is the master of horror adventure games. He made a successful kickstarter for Asylum and now he got the rights to make the first official game based on Lovecraft. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/agustincordes/h-p-lovecrafts-the-case-of-charles-dexter-ward

Godot: A free and open source engine that compites with unity and game maker. It is made by Okam Studios that recently finished a game published by Square Enix: Ultimo Carnaval. http://www.godotengine.org/  I still like haxeflixel better but someone started experimenting mixing both: https://github.com/volvis/HaxeFlixel-Godot_Parser

Dedalord: Made the successful mobile game Running Fred: http://www.dedalord.com/runningfred/

The Sandbox: It is a game where you play with sand with different properties. It is like a simplified and 2d minecraft but more creative. The development was almost parallel to Minecraft because it started as a Flash demo for Kongregate several years ago.

Vox Populi, Vox Die 2: This is the secuel of one of my favorite games from my country. The secuel is being made in the original Flixel and it has several years of development already: https://www.facebook.com/VoxPopuliVoxDeiEpisode2

We have several games on Steam also: Bunch of Heroes, Regnum, Doorways, Project Root, Serena, Reversion...etc. We made a curated list of Latin games: http://store.steampowered.com/curator/6873594-Latin-American-Games-Juegos-hechos-en-Am/

Soon we are going to release a free compilation of small games inspired by the pirate bundle. We are making a lot of games here and several of us were fans of Flixel. I'm hoping and trying to get them interested by HaxeFlixel now.

Our biggest problem now as an industry is that we have a lot of piracy and our audience only plays free games. But thing are starting to improve.

Where are you from? How is the indie scene in your country? I think this is a good opportunity to know a little more about us: the haxeflixel community. I would love to know more from each. Feel free to answer event if you are not SruloArt. It will be nice to know where Gama11, beblerox and others are and how are they doing. Maybe I should make a new post about this?

Whoa! your scene is much bigger than I've imagined, Godot I already heard about and even tagged Volvis repo on my big WIP list of HaxeFlixel resources, but this wide range of games is impressive, which is really great for you guys!

I'm a poor representation of my country's scene, and I'm most definitely not one of the community's admins, that's for sure :)

I know that @gamedevsam is big on the all community thing :) (http://bmoreindiegames.com/)
