I've just done a haxelib upgrade and when trying to compile my project that include flixel-addons, I get this error message:

Error: Could not find haxelib "flixel-addons", does it need to be installed?

flixel-addons is installed, I just watched it be updated :-)

You are probably using dev or vice/versa

Can you type the following and paste the results.

haxelib list

I am indeed using the dev branch, and as you can see the dev version of Flixel is installed and active, as is flixel-addons.

Hmm this reminds me I should probably remove some of the old libraries and maybe update openfl, I think I've got old bits of NME stuck in here somewhere :-)

I don't quite understand why, but it's OK now... Somehow I managed to get the haxe compiler to generate more sensible errors about missing FlxPoint (because it's moved into the more sensible flixel.math namespace).

Also, it seems you need to install the systools haxelib.
