Hi all

I was wondering if there's any way of formatting the code/brackets in FlashDevelop?

I'm used to working with javascript so I've gotten rather used to just pressing a button and having it clean up my code all nice and neat.

From what I could tell FlashDevelop has a CTRL+SHIFT+1 shortcut to format code, but it doesn't work for .hx files. The posts I found were from back in 2011 though so surely something has been added since then.

Is there a way to do this? How do you guys 'prettify' your formatting while your working on it?

Thanks!

+2 BTW (in the menu: Refractor>code formatter), +1 is for something else. I think this is planned for FD 5.0.0, but who knows. I'm using a lot of snippets and have plenty of templates, so that helps.

FlashDevelop's formatter can only handle ActionScript, not Haxe source code. I'm not aware of any Haxe formatting tool actually, I'd be surprised if such a thing exists.

@SruloArt: what makes you think this is planned? I don't think it is. Besides, FD 5 dev builds have been available for quite a while and there are only going to be bugfixes and minor improvements to it at this point. Definitely no Haxe formatting there.

This: http://www.flashdevelop.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11975

Also, I saw this thread and assumed it can't be too complicated: http://www.flashdevelop.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=10944
And there's also this as a possible separate tool, apperantly: https://github.com/johanp/Pixelizer/issues/65

Thanks for the info guys, bit of a shame this isn't supported yet. It's one of those silly things that you don't notice how annoying it is until it's gone :)

Btw, anyone else getting a weird bug where you hit the return key before a bracket, and rather than moving the bracket to a new line it just deletes it?

No, I don't think I've seen that issue.
