Fullscreen only shows black

So this is a problem that only occurs on my laptop (that has a screen resolution of 768p) and does not happen on my desktop with a 1080p monitor. I'm guessing this is because my game runs at 1080p (in windowed mode the game's screen size is 960x540) but is there a way to fix this? I tried messing around with FlxG.scaleMode but it didn't help at all. (Obviously this is a desktop issue) Thanks! ^)^
