Yes, we match up well on the review. Sure, the course is tucked into a
neighborhood but there are well placed signs that guide you in. This
course is not sure what it wants to be, which defines it as a short
“senior style” layout. I hit driver twice. This is one of the few 9
hole loops where I used every club in the bag. I like that.
I played the front 9 and the roar off 84 was cool. It cut down on the
chatter and would be a wonderful place to bring Wink or your father in-
law for obvious reasons. 84 is in play off the tee on #3 and #5 on the
front 9. This makes it fun, like the metaphoric danger a windmill at
mini golf represents, I-84 brings the motoring public into play in a
real and potentially catastrophic way. HLCC needs to up its insurance
coverage if Sherpa Jeff were to visit. The 9th hole was most
memorable. A 230 yard par 3 with no place to land the ball, it’s full
carry or penalty. No bail out area short, left or right so I recommend
clubbing up and if your long and left, just chip on from the practice
green and get your par.
We were the only folks on the course so no danger with errant shots
from other tees and fairways, but the way the holes are crammed on top
of one another, I recommend full body armor on summer weekends. Easy
walking course, tees right next to greens and the hills are not too
steep. Decent shape, a few water hazards and not many bunkers but at
$14 for the 9 holes, fair price, mediocre value. Great staff with an
attractive coed from Central CT State running the show. Extra goat
head for her attitude.
