 hi all,

im not sure if this group is still going but happy to join and give any advise i can from my experiences,

i have recently purchased a hawkeye for my 95 p38 and have had both car and the unit for only 6 months now and am in love.  it has well and truly paid for itself when i was 4x4 ing in no mands land and she decides to put me on the bump stops, twice in one day, turned out to be the usual leak in an air bag. fixed that and then the compressor failed, fixed that and found the valve block was leaking all over the place so ive fixed that too. i actually bought a complete set of fairly new but used set of air bags, and when i put them in, the front is alot lower that the back so im presuming that ive got a set of standard bags for the front and those aftermarket higher ride ones for the back. it is a pitty i cant adjust the ride heights with the hawkeye, only read them, and for some reason i cant seem to get story wilsons eas program to work on mine. a short time after fixing all of this the front left seemed to sit lower and the fault message came up, but was not logging a fault, so i plugged in the hawkeye, and found the stored height and actual height were very different, and figgured it to be a faulty ride height sensor. replaced that and with the exception of the different front and back heights, have fixed that too. all in all, ive saved six trips to the mechanic at AU$85 each visit to read and clear the faults... i love my hawkeye...

when i bought the car the fobs light up, and the reciever is getting the correct power etc but they just dont work, so ive bought a new, complete set of fobs, reciever, barrel and door lock, all with the bar code, off a guy on ebay who was going to get it installed but sold the car.  my hawkeye says my becm is unlocked, so ive worked out that i need to

get the fob code from the bar code, install the locks etc, input the fob code and hopefully vuala, sit back in my camping chair, with a couple of beers, and for the first time watch her super lock, but here lies my problem.

im from melbourne and have approched a couple of land rover dealers to get the fob code and " oh no we cant do that, we cant guarantee the the fob kit you got blah blah"...

so after my ramblings on i was wondering if anyone knows if hawkeye are going to do some pleasing update so i can put in the barcode and get the fob code and change the fob code that gets displayed on my hawkeye?

ive got the new instuctions on the v5 version and it does say i can change the fob code but need to obtain it from the rip off kings who are reluctant to do it. one will for the small price off $700

if any one can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated,

and if anyone is in my town and have some one who needs to plug in to my hawkeye im more than happy to help them out.. i drink carlton draught...ha ha

thanks Paul

Hi Paul,

Welcome.  Yes I think we're still around!  Great post but unfortunately I don't think there's an alternative to the dealer.  Incidentally, while I don't think the difference in ride height front-to-rear is particularly damaging make sure your tires match. Different rolling diameters will stress the VCU.

Cheers
Rasheed

Hi Paul glad to see that your happy with your Hawkeye, as you can imagine that we as a company, Bearmach are very security conscious and when it comes to key fobs we were always cautious not to assist  criminals to steal vehicles.

If you need to replace your key on a P38 you have to go through an authorised dealer and order the key from land rover . When you receive the key you just need to initialize it to your vehicle and away you go .

The keys cost on average ASR1940== £140.00 please check as they are chassis number pacific.

Also you need to know what key you want as  ,,key 1 or key2
